How it all started
Solero ice cream was first launched by Walls (Unilever) in 1994. It was manufactured using a unique process that enabled high quality ice cream to be covered with a soft fruit sorbet.
Between 1996 and 1997 Solero Forest Fruits, Solero Exotic Fruits and Citrus Fruits were launched. Great news for those who like to look after themselves as these contained 4% fat.
Back in 1999, Solero Shots, free-flowing citrus-flavour ice spheres in resealable cartons, made their debut.
The demand for low-fat products continued in 2007 with the launch of Solero Smoothies with two fantastic flavours; Strawberry and Banana, and Blackberry and Banana. They both have the blend of refreshing fruit sorbet and smooth banana ice cream.
Solero Exotic continues in the portfolio for 2007 which contains exotic fruits sourced from Peru, Ecuador and Thailand. Solero Exotic is delicious soft vanilla flavour ice cream, rippled with an exotic fruit swirl, dressed in a zesty passion fruit, pineapple, mango and peach coating. With an amazing fruity aroma, Solero Exotic is even more refreshing as its coating contains real fruit pieces and 23% fruit juice per product. Each Solero Exotic contains 2.3g of fat and 99 calories.
